Well, I’ve finally done it! The back cover copy for Withered World is complete. I’m feeling pretty good about it too. This strange little book is a little bit Fantasy and a little bit Dystopian all wrapped up in a world that doesn’t feel like it could be that far away (at least now considering the threats to the EPA, the Endangered Species Act and more). Does life imitate art or vice versa? It feels like both right now. When I started planning this book more than 2 years ago, I had no inkling that things would take the turn they did and now my fantasy is a little more frightening than I intended!

Vea herself has been living in my head since high school, so I’m really excited to get this story out there soon. She has been waiting a long time!

Withered World

No feast. Just famine.

The Curare are the sole hope for healing a damaged earth. Enslaved for the same rare elemental powers that will eventually kill them, they are forced to leave everything they love behind to undo the destruction wrought by humanity.

When soldiers descend on South Farm, Vea Algana, a Curare unlike any other, is flushed out of hiding. Accompanied by the mysterious farmhand Kale, she is exposed to the real world for the first time. Out in the desiccated fields of No Man’s Land, Vea must make a choice: go back into hiding once more or trust in Kale’s plan and face her enemy.
